fiction book about Maui or Hawaii

While on vacation, I love to read fiction which takes place at my vacation spot.I am. I am going to Maui next week, does anyone have any book suggestions? I read Mitchner's Hawaii last time I was there, which was terrific. Thanks

I remembered seeing a similar topic recently. Not sure if this will work, but here is an attempt at a link to that thread. If not, type "Hawaii reading" into the search bar - this was at the top when I did it, dated end of April 2008

I haven't read it, but there is Paul Theroux's "Hotel Honolulu". I haven't been impressed with his fiction, but his travel writing is superb.

Not fiction, but a great read is "Shoals of Time" by Gavan Daws. As good as any fiction book I've read.

I started this exact same topic a couple of months ago. In addition to the recs I received on that thread, I bought a paperback mystery by Sue Henry called The Refuge, which is set on the Big Island.

I'll look for the thread and top it for you.

Thanks everyone. I'll also look at the other thread.
