Ferries to Victoria BC
We are traveling to Victoria BC in about 5 weeks. I have been doing some research but can't get consistent information. Which Ferry should we take. Port Angeles--Anacortes??
|
Can you fill us in a bit as to where you will be traveling from and your itinerary? There are several routes - the two you mentioned plus two more from the Vancouver area.
|
We are coming from the Portland Oregon area so we can go up the Port Angeles side or the Seattle side.

The Black Ball ferry sails between Port Angeles and Victoria whereas the Washington State Ferry plies the waters between Anacortes and Sidney, BC
http://www.cohoferry.com/main/ http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/Sche...roundtrip=true The drive between Portland and Port Angeles is about 230 miles compared to 250 miles between Portland and Anacortes. The drive to Port Angeles includes a very scenic stretch of 101 along the western shore of Hood Canal, whereas the drive to Anacortes requires the potentially annoying experience of driving through Tacoma and Seattle. The Port Angeles ferry drops you off in Victoria; the Anacortes ferry lands at a destination 17 miles from Victoria. You can compare fares and make reservations at the above links. HTTY |
Wow that is all terrific information HTTY. I thought they both dropped us off at the same place. Sure look like it on the maps they show. I think Port Angeles is the way to go. I appreciate your input.
