Feedback on the Halekulani?

My husband and I are considering the Halekulani in Oahu. Can anyone give me any feedback?

The Halekulani is without peer on O`ahu -- gracious, upscale, oceanfront. They pride themselves on customer service...and excel at that, as well as ambiance, food, and accommodations.

Poolside at sunset...with the ocean lapping nearby, palm trees waving in the breeze, views down Waikiki Beach to Diamond Head, soft Hawaiian music (and hula).

This is the stuff that makes all those Waikiki dreams come true!

Take a look at the reviews..ALL of them...on TripAdvisor and then decide.

Hmmmm. Paige, you had posted earlier about the Royal Hawaiian versus the Moana Surfrider, and prior to that about Turtle Bay. Are you having doubts about the recommendations for those? Halekulani is a beautiful property.

Dukey is right, though--when I can't decide between multiple properties, I often use tripadvisor.com to check on specific feedback. It's a very useful site for hotels.

iamq recently posted his dilemma over these 3 hotels, you may want to check out the various responses to that, as well.

Good luck!

I've done a little researching the reviews for the Halekulani. It reminds me a lot of the reviews of Caneel Bay on St. John. People either love it or they feel it is way overpriced for what you get. Who knows?

I'm just gonna have to stay there and see for myself.

If you've got deep pockets, the Halekulani's "Vera Wang suite" might be of interest. Here's da scoops from today's Honolulu Star-Bulletin:

As the ultimate luxury hotel suite, Halekulani provides guests staying there a formal 24-hour butler service to cater to their every whim. Guests receive a complimentary bottle of Billecart-Salmon Rosé Champagne, as well as special gastronomic delights based upon the guests' tastes and arrival time. World-renowned mixologist and Halekulani's director of beverage arts, Dale DeGroff, has created a unique cocktail menu especially for guests of the Vera Wang Suite, which are prepared and served en suite.

The rate for the suite is $5,000 per night. Call 808-923-2311.
