February in the Monterey Peninsula
We're thinking about renting a condo somewhere on the Monterey Peninsula for the month of February. We've been to the area for a few days during September, November, and December. What's the weather going to be like in February? We're interested in hiking and golf, not in sunbathing or swimming during this time.

That's hard to say after this year's exceptionally wet winter. We can only hope that February of 2007 will be drier and sunnier.

I'd say February is one of the rainiest months in Monterey. There should be sunny days in there but there might not.

Last February was rainy, but off and on. You never know. if it is not raining you can do plenty of golf and hiking....plus the towns are not crowded. We live in the area and Carmel really starts to fill up with people at this time of the year. The town was very busy last Saturday.

Weather.com shows an average of 3.75 inches of rain in Feb - the 2nd rainiest month. There is generally some absolutely fabulous weather in Feb too - sunny and clear, fog-free.

As I recall February this year was exceptionally mild, it was March that was just horrible in terms of rain. Anyway my sister rents a house in Carmel the last week in January, first weeks of February and has so for the last five years. The weather overall has never been bad enough to stop her from returning--beats the weather back east is her response.

Late Jan, early Feb has tended to be nice some years in Monterey area. I lucked out one year (04 I think). I checked in on a Monday in mid Feb., for 2 nights. I had a little rain upon leaving, but the rest of the time it was mild (highs around 70!) and partly sunny.
