Feb in Florida (warm?)

We may be in Florida next February. Looking to take the kids to Disney. What is a typical February like in the Orlando area? Will it be warm enough for two kids under age 5?
Any suggestions on "kid things" to do in other parts of southern Florida?? (Tampa? Ft Meyers? Vero Beach? The Keys?)

Overall it was a VERY COLD feb for all of Fla. Look at weather underground for info.

It will probably be too chilly to go in the water in most parts. What kind of temps are you looking for?

What on earth does "warm enough for two kids under the age of 5" mean, anyway? Are you aware that kids even live in colder climates than Fla? Check the weather forecast the week before you leave, and dress for it, duh!

According to WeatherUnderground, the average high temp for February, 2002 in St Pete was 69.817, or rounded off, 70 degrees. Brrrr. Highest high was 84.9 on Feb 1. Lowest high was 55.4 on Feb 28, breaking records dating to the 1930's. Weatherunderground has a new feature, Seasonal Weather Averages. A normal February averages 71 for the high. This year missed by one degree--not so bad afterall!

Hotels have heated pools, just don't count on Gulf swimming.

We had a about 6 very cold (under 40 degrees) nights in Orlando this Feb, but never more than two or three days in a row. I had relatives visit during Presidents Day week and the weather was gorgeous. So you never know. They're from NYC and it was VERY warm for them!

Yep, the weather changes every few days here in Florida during our "winter" season. You just never know-- could be 80 degrees one day and 40 degrees the next. Could be 55 degrees in the morning and warm up to 75 by noon. (Hard to know how to dress your kids for school!) Best bet is to check short-term forecasts for the area a day or so before you come.
