You should go to the Price is Right taping. You have to write to them ahead of time for tickets. You'll need to get up very early and sit in line for a while but it is worth it if you are picked! I went in 1991 and was the last person to "come on down". I still have the tape of the show and it is a cherished memory!

If you want to get away from the crowds, but still enjoy the beach, head down to the south bay and visit, Manhattan, Hermosa, or Redondo beaches.
