My favorite is Heavenly. It has the longest runs and best views of Lake Tahoe. I think one run is over 5 miles.

Everyone has their preferences. We used to say North Shore for skiers, South Shore for gamblers, though ther are both casinos and great ski areas at both ends. For myself, Squaw Valley is the place if the weather is good, Northstar if there are storms/wind. If I end up staying south, I will usually make the trek down to Kirkwood.

thank you so much for your quick replies. i am sure they will try as many areas as they can fit in, just thought i'd get some experts' opinions.

any fun , not too expensive, restaurants not to miss.. or bars?

If this is your 1st time skiing Tahoe, don't miss Heavenly. Nothing rivals it for the views and the skiing is great. Squaw, Kirkwood and Northstar all have excellent skiing also but Heavenly's views have to be seen to be believed.

Go to www.virtualtahoe.com and check out the sky cam -- Heavenly has 3 views, and they are all unbelievable. You can also peek in on a number of other resorts.
