Favorite Seafood Restaurant in Carmel / Monterey / Pacific Grove area?

Hi there,

Heading soon for a Pacific Highway getaway and will be spending a couple of days in the vicinity of Carmel / Monterey / Pacific Grove? Has anyone had any really fantastic seafood restaurant experiences they want to share? Thanks very much in advance!!

I like Monterey Fish House also. In Pacific Grove, I really like Passionfish (more upscale than MFH). http://www.passionfish.net/
Other restaurants in PG I like are, Peppers and the Red House.

My husband and I always go back to these when in Carmel/Big Sur:

Flying Fish Grill/Carmel by the Sea
Marinus at The Bernardus Lodge/ Carmel Valley

Another vote for Passionfish!

It was a really wonerful meal and since fresh fish is so hard to come by here in SW, it was that much better.

We live in Pacific Grove. Passionfish is a winner.

The FISHWIFE in PG also good. Not fancy on the outside, but nice inside.

PEPPERS for Mexican in PG.

Try HULAS in Monterey for a little bit of everything.

BAHAMA BILLYS in the Barnyard is good.

Plus about 200+ other restaurants in this area.

We like the fish and chips at Schooner's Bistro @ the Monterey Plaza. Isabellas, Cafe Fina and Domenico's are some good places to try sand dabs on the wharf in Monterey. ***kim***

The recommendation for Schooner's is good. This is one of the few places on the Monterey Bay where you can sit outside and watch the bay. We take friends there frequently when they visit. It is located downstairs in the Monterey Plaza Hotel. Great for lunch. Not too expensive.

Traveldawg, despite the age of this thread, we took your recommendation and ate at Pepper's last night, and really liked it. Good food and drinks, lively atmosphere, moderate price. Thanks!

I've never had a particularly good fish dinner in that area. Try San Francisco.

Passionfish in Pacific Grove is excellent. We also enjoy the Fish Wife in PG.

We love Passionfish - the only reason we didn't go there this time was the third person in our party, who would have starved LOL.
