I really enjoyed my dinner at Blue Heaven. Went back for Sunday brunch, but didn't want sit through the 1 1/2 hour wait. I'm not sure if you can make reservations - you may want to look into that if you're interested in eating there. Enjoy your trip! :)

Laurie, also wanted to add Willie T's on Duval as a fun kinda down & dirty bar with great live music - check their schedule when you get there and see if anything appeals to you.

We had a fun time a couple of nights there. Their bar food isn't bad either.

Just returned from Key West.

Shula's, located in the Wyndham Reach Resort (our hotel) is a great steakhouse and seemed to be frequented by locals as well as those staying at the resort.

Vergilio's Trattoria (mid-Duval) was a nice Italian place, which also offered live music in its back room.

Kelly's (owned by Kelly McGillis) has great atmosphere and was a great place to have lunch (its 2 blocks from Mallory Square and across the street from the Truman White House).

Abbodanza on Simonton near Louisa has good and very reasonable Italian. The atmosphere is casual but upscale. This was probably the best food for the dollar of any restaurant we visited during a whole week.

it was a few years back, but here is where we ate and enjoyed: Michaels (used to have fondue at bar too),, Lateda, Louie's, Blue Heaven, Mones(summerland key) El Siboney

Blue Heaven for breakfast. Dinner was only ok, but we have never had a bad experience at breakfast-yum!

Louie's for lunch (much better for lunch than dinner), we eat at the Afterdeck Bar to be as close to the ocean as possible.

Mangoe's: when it's good, it's very good.

Square One for a nice dinner.

From a local Key wester, Ok Blue Heven's reports that jump around probably deals with the city giving them a hassle with their seating, still great when you can get in. Louie's is always a favorite, it's pricey but fine dining and great service always, Picies is the same, great food but pricey. Want to spend a little less? next door to them is Duffy's, and the two share a kitchen Cnr. Truman and Simington. Want a hearty meal at great prices is PT's LateNite on Caroline a special every day, a locals habitat. Pepe's which is just up the street great for beakfast thru supper, right between them is Harpoon Harrys and Ron gives you a fantastic breakfast or lunch, saw a mention of "815" but it is really "915 or nine-one-five" and is a toples restauraunt, for those like me it's individual items that you pick from menu, think alacart. see how this posting goes then maybe more, there are several hundred restaurants on this 2 mile by 4 mile island so many fine choices

I was in Key West first part of November. Loved Caroline's -- the grouper sandwich was awesome.

Also really enjoyed Louie's Backyard. It's worth the splurge to go at least once. I also really liked the bar. (We sat there while waiting for our table.) Great drinks -- best Margarita I had while I was there.

I live in Key West--ya gotta go to Santiago's Bodego--one block past Blue Heaven (great for breakfast) 207 Petronia--it's a tapas (small plates)nothin over 11 bucks and ALL is excellent--service and food. Beer & wine only.

7 Fish--great--need reservation--Alice's--fab--Salsa Loco--She's is just awsome--great garden dining outside and food super!!! n have 10 more

We love to try new places in Key West when we go too.

Lunch - do try Pepe's across from Bo's. Great patio, great food.

El Siboney- Very plain, kitchen type diner. Excellent Home made Cuban food. Terrific prices.

Dinner - Mangia Mangia is good- fresh pasta and sauces made daily.

Michaels- has a great Fondue menu if you enjoy that. You have to sit at the bar to have it for fire hazard purposes, but it is great.

Last year we ate a place in Bahama Village which was recommended to us, Santiago Bodego's (not sure if I've spelled that correctly). They served Tapas and the plates were very large portions for Tapas. Delicious. The wine list was very impressive for such a small spot. We will definitely be back there this year.

I second on Virgillo's LaTratoria.
We had a wonderful dinner there.
So much food.

Meteor is not BBQ any more...or known at the Meteor either.

We liked the food at Conch Republic.
Nothing fancy but just good.

I hear Hot Tin Roof is good also.

Do you have any info on "Hot Tin Roof" ? Never heard of it. Thx.

But there are too many choices!

Our vote is for lunch at Louie's. Best on a sunny day when you can eat outside and enjoy the view. For us, it is a splurge but we look forward to it each year. The food, the view, the service,.....we'll be back.
