Favorite Restaurant Suggestions
We will be returning to Scottsdale in March and looking forward to the large selections of good restaurants you have in your area.
We plan our vacations on relaxing and eating
fine food.

We always have dinner at Mary Elaine's, Christopher's Fermier(can't leave Scottsdale without having foie gras), and the restuarant
at Boulder's.

Staying in Scottsdale half the time and at Carefree the remainder, so no place will be too far to travel.

We like french, american, steaks, and seafood. Do not care for mexican or spicy food. We don't want a Ruth Chris or Morton suggestion for steak because we can eat at those two places anywhere. Subscribe to Phoenix Magazine to keep up with changes and have read alot of commendations for Roxsand, T.Cook's, and Michael's at the Citadel.

Will you share your favorites?

Just got back from the area and had a great meal at Vincent Guerithault's on Camelback in Phoenix. It seems some dishes have a "zing" to it, but I would not say it was very spicy. I highly recommend this restaurant. (NB - in the future, if you made reference to the city in your subject line, it might help you get more responses.)

Razz's is always excellent, though it doesn't have the atmosphere of the others you mentioned. He (Razz; don't ask me to spell his full name) is a well-known chef here. Make reservations well in advance and ask enough questions so that you can request a nice location, out of the doorway/traffic, etc. (sometimes they will accommodate this; sometimes it's first come, first served).

From your description, I do NOT think you will be pleased with Roxand (the food is, well, strange), I am SURE you will like Michael's, and T. Cook's is definately a possibility. Vincent's is a possibility, but I would pull up a copy of the menu on the internet to see if you are interested. It may be to southwestern for you.

I really like Barcelona in Chandler. It is mediterranian/spanish. Very pretty inside. I also like Sam's Cafe which is southwestern. I know you said you don't like Mexican but Southwestern is pretty different you might like it.

My inlaws who live there seem to really like P. Flemings as a steakhouse (apparently this is the guy who started PF Changs). Also, how about the Pink Pony in old town Scottsdale - it's been around forever. Lately, we've tended to go out for sushi when we've been there so if you want the name of any of our favorite places, let me know.
