Favorite Maui Restaurants

Going to Maui and staying at Westin Ka'anapali Villas in April. What are your favorite restaurants - both for a upscale romantic meal and also for quicker casual meals?

Also - just to make it tricky - while my husband and I are both adventurous with food, my husband in gluten-intolerant (no flour, bread, etc) and I don't do pork or shellfish. So a place that only serves pork sandwiches is not an option for us!

Thanks!
Lara

I liked Pioneer Inn in Lahaina for breakfast on the veranda in the morning.

Aloha Mixed Plate with an outdoor patio setting for plate lunches.

There are soooo many great places to eat!
Most spectacular view, food and ambiance is Mama's (expensive but worth it). It is a couple miles from the airport toward Hana. On the beach in Kaanapali is The Barefoot Bar where you have your toes in the sand while watching the ocean while you eat delicious, reasonably priced meals. It also has great hawaiian live music in the evenings. Also, right next to it is Hula Grill, more upscale prices and food but delicious.
And within a short walk is Leilani's with great ocean views from upstairs and great food.
Then there is Sensei, for fantastic sushi and japanese and pacific rim food in Kapalua resort.
The restaurant on the hill at the Kapalua golf course has spectacular views.
Then for a fantastic on the beach dinner, very romantic, don't miss Pacific'O in Lahaina.
The most exhilarating experience of all is the Feast at LeLe luau. Check out there websit.

Have fun.

There are literally hundreds of threads here on this topic as this question is asked often. A search for maui resataurants turned pages of hits. Here are a few:

My favorite restaurant on Maui is Hailiimaile General Store.

Check the above links--the second one has great advice for cheap eats.

For gluten-free specials, try Mala, Banyan Tree at the Ritz and Spago at Four Seasons. Many resort chefs will be willing to work with you.

Cheeseburger in Paradise on the beach in Lahaina. Not affiliated with that singer.

A couple more places you should check out in Kapalua is Merriman's for cocktails/fine dining, and the Honolua Store deli for lunch--they have a great menu at reasonable prices.

Quick casual meal? Near Ka'anapali? Look no further than the Honolua General Store in Kapalua. Lunches around 5$/for a plate lunch. Last year we had pork chops, broiled fish, teri steak, noodles, so many choices I can't remember them all. Each day has usually two different entrees along with the requisite rice and mac salad.

We like the Plantation restaurant at the Kapalua golf course. Lunches are very reasonable, the views are great and you don't need reservations. We also like Moose McGuillicuddy's for a fun place. Not a great view unless you like to people watch. The food is plentiful and reasonable - especially the early dinner specials. We've tried the Aloha Mixed Plate and were not impressed. We like to spend more money doing things than eating so expensive restaurants are usually not on our agenda.

We loved Longhi's in Lahaina. It's a little pricey, but the breakfast in particular is out of this world. We also had excellent lunches and a dinner there- handmade pastas, great steaks, amazing desserts.

We really enjoy Plantation house for breakfast before playing golf at Kapalua but you don't need to be a member or play golf to eat there.
Gazebo in Napili.
Hula Grill in Ka'anapali
Kimo's in Lahaina
Bev Gannon's at the General Store
Sansei for sushi in Kapalua
Roy's in Napili
