Laura, do a 'text' search at the top of the page for Key West. There have been numerous posts on places to stay. Or try WWW.KEYWEST.COM for info on Inn's, B & B's, hotels, motels. We like our daughter's place the best :-)

Hi Laura,

It really depends on your budget as to where to stay - we cmaped and looked for cheap and cozy ... in key largo, kings camp had camping by the gulf water for $20, and they also had a marina, rooms, rv, and cabins - in key west we stayed at leo's campground by a tiny river for $22, and we did check out the bahia honda state park that had a decent beach but way too many no-see-um- bugs :(
i posted an enormous trip report on the keys 2 weeks ago so search for "Florida Keys Trip Report" if you want to check out what else we saw/recommend

Stayed in Centre Court which is one block from the Duval st. I had an awesome conch house for only 188/day. What's amazing is the outdoor shower, and the details decor. Highly recommend!!!
Must see, Mallory Pier for the sunet and music.
BlueHeaven for the breakfast and Half Shell Raw bar for the Oysters.
Snorkeling in Looe Key, i saw a shark!!!
The Marquesa. Great small hotel, perfect location 2 blocks off Duval.

I was looking for information on Wicker Guest House and I see that Cindy (above) highly recommends it. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try Lazy Lane Cottages at Poinciana Place. You can access their web site through www.keywest.com.

We had a very pleasant one bedroom apartment with kitchen, with our own hot tub on a small deck/balcony for $700 for 7 nights. It was close to everything, and very quiet and private at night, and we appeared to have our own personal cat. Also had access to a washer and drier. No pool. Would definitely stay there again.

Hi Laura,
I've stayed in both Key West and Key Largo. I loved the Westin Key Largo and the Sheraton Key West. And both hotels are both starwood properties. They are currently running a promotion for people that stay at any of their hotels from June to August 31. If you stay 5 nights at their hotels, you get 2 free fridays and if you stay 10 nights, you get 2 free weekends. I love to travel and stay in nice properities but most improtantly. I like to get my moneys worth and a whole lot more. They are currently running the best promotions this summer. Keep in mind that you can accumulate the 5-10 nights stay within the next 3 months so when if you only stay two nights at these hotels, you can still you if towards the promotion. Check out the website at www.starwood.com. To participate in the promotion you have to join the starwood preferred guest program (which is free to join) and pay with an American Express card. The drive from Key Largo to Key West is beautiful. Have Fun!

Hi, Laura!
I live in Miami and often travel to Key West.

Right past Key Largo is a key called islamorada, it's the best real key experience. The Moorings is by far the best place to stay. About $200 but worth it!!!! Also, you'll find the "Tiki bar" where you'll find locals drinking in the morning.
Key West is very touristy. Expect lots of tourist type shopping. The Lightbourne Inn is a straight/gay friendly bed and breakfast that is nice.

MUST=======Blue Heaven to eat at night

have fun!!!!

Hi Laura, Hope that this recommendation isn't too late but THE place to stay is the Frances Street Bottle Inn. Look at thier web site since they have some great packages this time of year. www.bottleinn.com
