New York Cheese at Juniors in Grand Central Station.

The reason (pointed out by another poster) that you can't find a decent cheese cake in NYC is they're found in Brooklyn or Queens.

While Greek diners (especially those in Queens) do make among the best, I still think Junior's in Brooklyn is the benchmark - they also have a retail outlet in Grand Central Station but I've never been in it. YMMV
mj

Juniors in Brooklyn is great!
The outlet in Grand Central is good too.
For those of you craving one of Juniors cheescakes, they ship them. you can also buy them from QVC. (believe it or not!!)
The cheesecake in those outer borough diners is the best overall!

Key lime pie is so incredibly easy to make, that I can no longer order it a restaurant. Cakes and other fancy desserts are so much harder to make.

Wonder if that is THE Serendipity from the movie...? (We just rented it this last weekend.) John Cusak was eating/drinking some coffee/whipped cream concoction.

A passion fruit souffle' at Vong (54th? and 3rd) in NYC. They poke a little hole in it and drop in a blob of passion fruit ice cream. Ohh-h-h-h...an almost orgasmic experience. The people at the next table saw us with our eyes rolled back in our head, and asked what we were having! :)
