Favorite Chicago style pizza in...
Chicago of course. I am visiting my home town for a couple of weeks for some music, friends, and good times. It has been a while since I have been here and I love a great Stuffed pizza. A favorite of mine from the past was Eduardo's. Something tells me they went corporate and they weren't quite as good as when I was young. Hell, I don't even know if they still exist.
Any Fodorite favorites Out there? I am not leaving town with out this special treat. thereyet |
Chicago Pizza Debate!!!=-O
TAKE COVER!!!! Lou Malnati's for me....C:) |
They still exist. I don't think there as many of them as there used to be. Can't tell you whether they're as good as I've never eaten at one! The one closest to us closed before we'd had a chance to get there. We're in Villa Park, the one in Elmhurst closed just after we moved here.
While I don't dislike it, stuffed pizza is just a little too heavy for me to want for more than an occasional indulgence. But when I do eat it, my choice is Giordano's. Even though they have a lot of locations, I think they're still pretty consistant. As I mentioned on another thread recently, my kids have discovered Connie's 'cause that's the pizza they serve at Wrigley. As a result, we've learned that they (at least the one on Ogden in Westmont) have a very decent lunch buffet. It's $9.95 including a beverage and has several pizza choices (everything from thin crust to deep dish) as well as soup, salad, pastas and desserts (including mini-cannoli). Enjoy your time back in Chicago! |
Hi Kal, my brother's family is split between Eduardo's and Lou Malnati's. :)
I may just have to do both and make up my own mind. thereyet |
Thanks CAPH, I do recall going to Giordano's and I do recall it being GREAT! Thanks for the tips. I will ber out at Wrigley Monday night.

We've also hit Uno's, Due, Gino's East, Girodano's and one whose name I forget and we found our fave pie was the one we were eating at the time. :))

Hi Exiled, now the name of that place sounds like it belongs in California, am I wrong about that?
