Favorite Casual Restaurants in Santa Fe?

Hi, all - we're going to be taking a trip to Santa Fe, and I would love recommendations for your favorite casual restaurants, something with a little atmosphere? We went a few years back, and I remember we went to Bobcat Bite, and The Shed, and maybe Pasqual's? What are some of your favorite spots? I heard Bobcat Bite is closed.

A local friend said The Shed is still there and good. They like Tia Sophia's for breakfast.

Are you looking for New Mexican cuisine or any kind? Our favorite meal was at Paper Dosa which is Indian. Our second favorite place, Taberna, has closed but we did enjoy their sister restaurant, La Boca, as well which is still open.

Yes, primarily interested in New Mexican cuisine - chiles, etc. And any good spots for breakfast too. Thanks for the recommendation on La Boca. Sorry to hear Taberna has closed.

And La Chosa (Choza?) is The Shed but less expensive - same ownership.

No, Tomasita's doesn't pay me. It also won't accelerate me to the front of the wait list for this.

Not New Mexican cuisine but we loved Rooftop Pizzeria. It was a nice break from the New Mexican cuisine we ate the rest of the time.

Russ, I'm not sure what your favorites are; you're just not communicating clearly! Good to know about La Choza too - thank you!

I'll throw another Tomasita's on the pile. It is bustling, noisy and packed. Totally worth it.

Concur with Pasqual's, La Choza and The Shed.

If you're between Santa Fe and Albuquerque (closer to the latter), The Range Cafe is well worth a five minute diversion from I25 to "downtown" Bernalillo.

socal, that's the second recommendation that I've gotten for Tia Sophia's for breakfast. What do you like to get there - any favorites?

obx, thanks for all your great suggestions. We will be between SF and ABQ since we land in Albuquerque. What about for green chile cheeseburgers? Anyone have a favorite spot?

I'd guess the almost anyplace that serves a good burger is going to have a side of green chili on the menu. The Range Cafe does a great burger.

Check out the website for Santa Fe Bite. Looks like the resurrection of Bobcat Bite.

We went to Cafe Pasqual last month for dinner, and it was excellent. Their breakfast menu looked awesome, too.

We stopped in a bar for a bar snack (Caesar salad with chicken) which was very good. I can't recall the name of it. It was behind the La Fonda, across from a churchyard full of vendors. Big help, eh?

Bro, glad to hear it's still good!

I bet I could probably find it based on your directions!

Horseman's Haven for chili cheeseburgers. It's out of the way, but the best.

For something not New Mexican, but a great experience, check out Radish and Rye. My favorite restaurant in Santa Fe.

Yes, Santa Fe Bite is the restaurant formerly known as Bobcat Bite.

We always like Tune Up Cafe, and when we were in Santa Fe last weekend we had some great BBQ at Whole Hog Cafe. It's across the street from Cowgirl, but their focus is strictly barbecue with some tasty sides.

We live in Albuquerque, and go to Santa Fe occasionally, but I've never eaten at Santa Fe Bite. I hear great things about their green chile cheeseburgers, though.

Someone recommended Horseman's Haven, but I've always heard that their chile is super hot so I don't know that I would try eating there.
