We frequently eat at French Market Buffet at the Orleans, because that's where we stay. It's inexpensive and good, at all meals. When we were in LV over Christmas, we ate at the Aladdin buffet for lunch, and thought it was the best buffet we had in vegas. We have tried the Paris and Bellagio buffets, and did not like them as much.

Personally, the buffets in Las Vegas are the worst over-priced food we ever experienced. With that said, we still are going to try the Paris breakfast buffet and Bally's Sunday Brunch buffet our next visit in July.
As for restuarants, we love the food and martinis at Red Square in Mandalay Bay. However, their service is terrible. The Eiffel Tower at the Paris, and Top of the World at the Strat. The Steakhouse at Circus Circus was really good also. We've eaten at several restuarants, we would never go to again nor recommend to anyone else.
Of all the places we've been, overall Las Vegas has the worst over priced food I've ever seen, but we still keep going for the atmosphere.

Loved Paris's buffet. Ate there twice in one trip. Although they seem a bit pricey, we ate an early lunch both days for $18 each and didn't eat again until after midnight. And the food was delicious. With tons of selection.
Didn't eat at any spectacular restaurants, but would very much like to try Circo at Bellagio with a view of the fountains (not Le Cirque).

I'm not a huge buffet person, but I enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Bellagio.
As for restaurants, there are so many more I still want to try, but some of my best experiences to date have been at Prime, Le Cirque, Aqua (which I think is gone), Charlie Palmer's Steak, Nine, Emerils, Red Square, Olives...

Best Buffet- It's a bit off the strip at the Rio... The Carnival Buffett has a little bit of everything and is worth the trip. We went there to see Penn and Teller- also completely worth it.
Favorite Restaurant- Tony Roma's. I think it's the only restaurant I've eaten in there. ;-)

Do NOT go to Cirque at the Bellagio..
We have been twice- the first time was terrific ( right after they opened) and the second time was this past OCT..It was AWFUL...food was good- SERVICE was terrible...and for $250 for 2 people for dinner , there are way better places...
One of my ALL TIME favorites is NOT on the Strip--but take a cab to ROSEMARY's--it is fix price and a 5 star CHEF!! Probably the best fancy food we had in Vegas...

Picasso at the Bellagio is WAY better than Cirque...
The BUFFET at the Bellagio was awesome- make sure you do lunch and not dinner-on Sunday, there are all you can eat crablegs..
And the ALL time terrific but CHEAP restaurant was a thai restaurant called Lotus of Siam :
Lotus of Siam is in the Commercial Center on East Sahara west of Maryland Parkway
Have a blast!

I eat at the Paris breakfast buffet everytime I go to Las Vegas. They have such a large buffet that you can fill up at breakfast and not eat again until dinner. Another favorite place of mine is Delmonico's the the Venetian. The service was wonderful and food was perfect.

We loved the Paris buffet for dinner. We also tried the Sterling buffet at Bally's and were not impressed. There was a large selection of food, but it all tasted like it had been cooked in one big pot. There was no distinctive flavor to any of it. At the Paris, on the other hand, everything was well flavored and very appealing. On the next trip, we are going to try a late lunch buffet at Paris and skip dinner.

I no longer eat at the buffets. They cost as much as "real" restaurants with worse service. Why pay $20 to $30 unless you are nostalgic for your high school cafeteria?
What really turned my stomach off from eating at them was seeing a 10 year old pick up food with her bare hands, place it on her plate, then change her mind and put it back on the serving tray.

To each his or her own. My husband and I had an absolutely magical dinner at Le Cirque--service, ambiance, and food. VERY expensive though. Equally expensive at Picasso, but we found the restaurant to be unexciting and disappointing. The food was good, but not THAT good, and it just wasn't worth it for us.
