Thanks for the ideas! Helps a lot.
Almost decided now to do the Argonaut so appreciate the restaurant ideas near there, most esp. now.
Ital across the street, decent?
Also...could the able-bodied ones catch the street car readily enough to Boulevard & maybe cab back?
It sure looks beautiful.
I've only gazed from outside & their website too. (never plan w/reservations) They do have a private dining room, but I wonder if that's a negative as it's in the basement of the restaurant? Maybe can see more ambience & Bay Bridge from the main floor?
Lastly...thanks for the bicycle idea. My mom is probably not adventuresome enough (and often cold) but for some others? Could be fun!

Only when you're there bilaaaayyyy.
DD,
Mrs Kal is 100% 1st generation Northern Italian and she'd go back.
And except for her taste in man, she's very picky when it comes to Italian food.
I'd say it was decent.
The street car stop is about a block away by the Walgreens.
You plan is do-able.
As for the bike ride, we find if the great grand kids ask my Mom to do soemthing she's right there for it.
As for the cold, the driver gave Mrs Kal and her friend some heavy duty blankets and tucked them in!

Will have to give Capurro's a try then, as it sure would beat out others for convenience...esp. for my elderly mom. Perhaps more plain than I'd envisioned initially (not sure having
not yet stepped inside) but
probably far more affordable than some other choices for such a large group. (most esp. as younger members in the group wouldn't really get their money's worth ;-)
at a place like Gary Danko.
Reading nice things here too about Bistro Boudin
but have to see if it's that much better than Capurro's to warrant even that much walk. (which granted is minimal but again, nice if we don't even have to use a car for my mom, who uses a cane!)
Lastly, Ana Mandara sounds beautiful & has a private dining room which beats the others for noise. But, some in our group, my mom included, just don't do Vietnamese all the much, and are pretty darn narrow in their tastes! :-\
Bit concerned that Capurro's will be too loud for my mom as their website mentions a jazz trio each night. Hmmmm....much to ponder. If not sticking to the immediate area, then, Boulevard leads in my thoughts. Thanks everyone!
