Father's Day in CHI town...suggestions?

We'll be in Chicago this weekend for a short getaway -- myself, my husband, and our 4 year old son. Any suggestions for neat things to do with dad on Sunday?

Something along the lakefront?

Lincoln Park Zoo and a paddleboat rental?

The Museum of Science and Industry?

Anything along the lakefront is great, especially if the weather is nice. Your 4 year old son might enjoy running around Millenium Park. The Cubs are home on Sunday, so perhaps you could scalp some tickets?

Navy Pier and the ferris wheel and a boat ride on Lake Michigan.

I agree with many of the suggestions presented. The Zoo is fabulous with a special area for littler kids. But, definitely try to see the Cubs at Wrigley. They may lose but who cares? You can often scalp tickets at face value and there are occasionally tickets released on the day of game. You can call the box office or try your luck.

Have lunch at The Park Grill and wander through Millenium Park or the Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park. Beautiful views and plenty of room to run around. There's also free music in the pavilion in Grant Park Friday and Saturday night.

There's a great street festival this weekend, Chicago Summerfest, has kids activites, music and food for a $5 donation. link is www.starevents.com/lincoln_fest.

Have fun, it's hard to go wrong!
