father daughter trip to Seattle in mid-March

But NWMale and his famous bold was posting about how 'normal' things are in Seattle.

There are alarmists, and there are realists.
Like janisj, I would have been sitting in the arena with a beer.
But I wouldn't get on a plane twice, travel through airports 4 times, to visit a city that has, for all intents and purposes, closed its tourist attractions.

FWIW, I wouldn't travel to Los Angeles either. Nearly everything I can think of that would interest a tourist is closed, with the exception of outdoor stuff like hiking trails and walks on the beach. Amusement parks, museums, theaters, athletic events, Observatory, zoo, nightclubs are all closed, and the governor issued an executive order that the state can take over hotels and medical facilities if necessary to treat and/or quarantine potential patients.

I would cancel the trip.

In just the last few days, a number of attractions (museums, etc) have announced closures until the end of March at least. If it was my trip - and it isn't - I'd cancel. If you were coming here just to do outdoor things - hiking, etc. - the trip would still work.

Another update: restaurants, bars, etc. closed throughout state. Take out still allowed.
though really, I've got a strong stomach but still wasn’t quite willing to eat out. So I suspect they weren’t getting a lot of crowds anyway...

NOt a question of a strong stomach. Question of decreased crowds AND contact with other people. We must cut down person to person contact.
This article in Wapo explains how to flatten the curve of the virus spread which must happen so the healthcare system isn't overhwhelmed . AND then there will be yet another outbreak at a later time according to medical experts. this is not going to get over in 2 weeks.

Some hiking is already limited. The Makah Tribe is not letting nontribal members on their property, which includes some popular trails such as Shi Shi, Third Beach, Cape Flattery and even the dock at Neah Bay. Even for us locals, we meed to check daily what is open, and by that I mean checking official websites not just various forums.

I cannot imagine taking a trip at the moment. Give some thought to the possibility that you would contract the disease while "wherever" and be quarantined there. That is one of the reasons friends from Minnesota and NYC chose not to come here to the beach with us--they didn't want to be quarantined in SC!!
