Fastest route from SLC to Kanab, UT?
 

Would those of you familiar with southern Utah please share with me the fastest route from Salt Lake City south to Kanab, UT. Not particularly the most scenic, but the fastest--for a vanful of little children who'll be on their second day of being cooped up riding south to a family reunion.

Where is the best place to head west from I-15?
Rt 28 (exit 222)?
Rt 70 (exit 132)?
Rt. 20 (exit 95)?
Rt 17 to Rt. 9 (exit 27)?

Google maps says take 15 to exit 95 route 20 to 89 to Kanab. almost 6hours

Dear metoo: I am glad you enjoyed our trip report from last summer.

I agree with the previous poster. Exit I-15 and take Rt. 20 to 89. We took this route from 89 to I-15 and it was quick, wide and well travelled. Not too curvy or cumbersome.

Just be sure to head EAST, not west. Kanab is east of I-15.
