FASTEST ROUTE FROM SF TO LAS VEGAS?
 

CAn anyone tell me what the fastest route from San Francisco to Las Vegas is? And about how long will it take us? I'm guessing we should try to avoid driving into Los Angeles, but I'm not sure what the best route would be. We leave for Las Vegas on Wednesday, and return on a Sunday.

Hope that this isn't too late. Drive south to Bakersfield. From Bakersfield, drive east to Lancaster and across to Barstow and right on to Las Vegas. Plan on about 8-10 hours allowing time to stop for food and gas etc.

Well, this is probably REALLY too late, but in case anyone else is interested in these directions... <BR> <BR>From Bakersfield you actually drive east (on Highway 58) to *Mojave* and then continue on to Barstow. Not Lancaster.

Professor: <BR> <BR>You are absolutely correct. I don't drive to Las Vegas anymore as prefer to fly. I have driven this route before but I guess my memory is fading. In any event the key is Bakersfield to Barstow and on to Las vegas.
