Fast Route Between Cincinnati and Charlotte
I could use some help with anyone who is very familiar with the drive between Cincinnati, OH and Charlotte, NC. Every mapping site I go to maps it down I-75 through Knoxville and over I-40 through Asheville. This is over 8 hours. I have had one person tell me that taking the AA Highway out of northern Kentucky and hooking up with I-77 somewhere (I don't know where)is much faster, at between 6.5 to 7 hours. Does anyone have knowledge of this or a similar route? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go to mapquest.com and get the directions from Cincinnati to Charleston, WV. That's the fastest route - OH32/OH73/US52 to I-64.
206 miles, or 4 hours to Charleston. Charleston to Charlotte is 262 miles, or another 4 hours. So, it's still 8 hours via I-77. Total distance about 460 miles, compared to about 500 via I-75/I-40/US321. Seriously, both route will take about the same time - 8 hours if you drive speed limit. |
I-40 doesn't go to Charlotte.
I-40 to Asheville, I-26 to Highway 74 (just before SC border) into town. WHERE in Charlotte are you trying to go, or are you trying to go thru town? |
