I am so happy that Leone is being honored on a thread that I started. I can't picture him wearing velvet on Christmas or creating any Faux Pas. To all of you Leone fans I would like to be on the board of directors of the LEONE FAN CLUB. Merry,Happy Holidays to all. XX00 CA

I'll be at De Lutece the 28th - and I'm buying - that's 65, rue Saint Louis En L'ile, 4eme. I'll be the one in plaids, stoking the fire and humming Je Ne Regrette Rien, Cheap Eats in hand. And praying I can find the fortitude to crawl to the limo early on the first, and face Delta. And those accusing cats when I walk through the door. Any Maine Coon owners out there ... you'll know precisely what I mean. Reading those interminable cat sitter reports on jet lag is such a thrill. And wondering why they didn't rinse out the tuna cans!! Yikes, mask and cannister, please. Take care, and thanks for the cheery messages ... have a good evening. Ciao

Just wanted to say bon voyage Leone. I'll be thinking of you in Ille St. Louis while I'm enjoying Christmas with the out-laws. I have fond memories of the Hotel Des Deux Iles, where my husband and I stayed in a closet, I mean room. It was actually a very lovely little hotel. I'm so jealous! Have a drink for me, will you?

did you remember to ask for the room on the 5th floor overlooking the street? sooo great, having breakfast, sitting in the window looking down over rue St Louis en Ille and over the rooftops..if you lean way out (be careful) to the left you might be able to see part of Notre Dame~ciao-tall dark and etc~C

Hi, Curious - we have two at Deux Illes, and two at De Lutece, and yes, you will hear your name while the glasses clink at Le Petit Nicois that first night. Tell those outlaws to treat you gently. Ah, not to disillusion, but feet of clay, feet of clay ... for when you've rinsed a diaper, what's a tuna can! Getting the stains out, some of my finest hours! Kid you not. Must run ... thanks for your kindnesses and nice words. I really do wish you all a fab holiday, and I'll catch you on the up spin. Ciao

L, Just look at you, I step out for a minute and what do I find when I come back but you in the midst of a swarm of Fodorettes! We must tone this down for the sake of other guys on the forum, but first: Announcement: Meeting of Le Societe d'Amirateux de Leone. Place: Woody's When: mid janvier. Dress: noir, noir, et plus noir (esp dress socks and sandals) No poppers...we've moved up to aileron de poulet in deference to the traveling man ....Be there or be square.

Oooohhh!!!! I can WALK to Woody's, I live so close! And if he is on his best behavior and buys us some (enough) bubbly, maybe, just maybe, Olive and I shall promise not to reveal his true appearance to all the Fodorettes!
Whaddya say, Olive? After all, the mystery is half the fun!
P.S. to Leone: A couple of threads ago, you cited "St. Pete Restaurants" as an example of an oxymoron...(Of course, what can one expect when dealing with a person who looks upon Captain K's as a vacation destination!
Well, when you come down to Sunset, I shall make it a priority to correct your thinking. You definitely must come to my restaurant!
Happy Christmas, all!

Joan, by all means - give me the name of your restaurant - we'll be buzzing in January 17, out the 22nd, and we'll be ready for some shrimp. You may be assured we'll give you a try - I'll even call ahead for a reservation. No, no, no, don't tell anyone about Capt. K's - I try to keep that as my private playground. Regarding Woodys - are you mainland or SS side? If you look across the water from their tables to 78th Ave, SS, when that second beer arrives, you'll spot something brown on stilts - one day I'll run up a cocktail flag to announce I'm finally home. Now, Olive is the alltime popper queen of your neighborhood - she keeps Woodys shrimp versions to herself, and keeps me limited to their cheeze whiz version. I have to be nice to OO, 'cause she's co-signing my Woodys charge account. But she's so mean - she keeps threatening to post my picture on internet - my mom says it's a Harrison Ford face (I hide her glasses)- OO says more like Fairlane with an Edsel grill. Post that eatery, and warm up the grill. Have a great holiday and prosperous 2002. Ciao, L

Geo, I don't think you read xx's post very well. I interpret that to mean that in the southern hemisphere no body wears velvet at Christmas because it is summer. She/he didn't mean they thought Florida was in the southern hemisphere. we know Americans think/know we are the centre of the universe - but that isn't quite right!
