Actually, it usually goes the other way. I have posted in the lounge that I have a question on the US or other forum, just in case loungers have some input and might not have visited the other thread for a while. Other loungers do this as well.

<It seems that the fact that I can choose where I post obsesses you.>

Right, that's it.

hetismij2 Sep 3rd, 2015 11:38 AM

Wow, this is turning into a thread the Lounge could be proud of.

IMDonehere Sep 3rd, 2015 11:43 AM

And there you have it.

BTW, I hate cats.

I posted on mr_go's thread in Forums Help. Ira and I certainly differ in some of our beliefs and opinions, but I don't recall him ever saying anything that would warrant being banned.

If he has been allowed to come back under the screen name he's currently using, certainly it would be a simple thing to reinstate him under his original Fodor's name.

I think Ira might be back! I just clicked on his name & his profile is active

Hope he has been reinstated. If anyone has his email, perhaps they could ask him to check.

starrs Sep 3rd, 2015 01:46 PM

I hope he's back! :-)

What the #@$&^ is this all about? Was there some profanity or offensive remark? I myself have gained travel but also other info on Fodors and the Forum and thank the mysterious moderators or company for a continuing.

If I had the time maybe I would discovered what is considered out of bounds.

suze Sep 3rd, 2015 02:41 PM

His profile is active again, but does he know it? Will he return?

Inakauaidavidababy Sep 3rd, 2015 02:54 PM

Toll the bells.

So much for a canonization.

fmpden Sep 3rd, 2015 02:57 PM

Wow, IRA back, Trump signed the no 3rd party pledge, and Davis went to jail. Does it ever get any better than this?

LucieV Sep 3rd, 2015 03:16 PM

NewbE, how come you hate the lounge so much?

Suki Sep 3rd, 2015 04:04 PM

There is nothing inherently bad about or wrong with the Lounge. People who can take what they like about it and ignore what they don't seem to enjoy it the most.

"But then perhaps the loudest Lounge haters also hate segregation, old boys clubs and old country clubs, where you are welcomed to spend your money from the back door, but woman and nigras need not apply for full membership."

LOL.

NewbE Sep 3rd, 2015 06:58 PM

LucieV, I don't hate it. "Hate" is the overheated term suze uses, I don't know why. I used to enjoy the Lounge; then I decided that the bad there outweighs the good and stopped posting. YMMV.

"I used to enjoy the Lounge; then I decided that the bad there outweighs the good and stopped posting."

Same here.

I guess we all see different things. I see good humor and companionship and intelligent discussion, punctuated by some misunderstandings and personality clashes. I think the latter is a fair price to pay for the former.

goddesstogo Sep 4th, 2015 11:25 AM

Me too.

IMDonehere Sep 4th, 2015 11:27 AM

Hey Ira, you farewell tour is longer than Derek Jeter's.

suze Sep 4th, 2015 11:53 AM

<<"Hate" is the overheated term suze uses, I don't know why.>>

Because you trash talk the Lounge and the people who post there every chance you get, on any other forum outside the Lounge where you can squeeze a negative comment in about it.

annhig Sep 4th, 2015 12:02 PM

I agree with both of you - and I can definitely say that I've learnt a lot here too.
