where do you live and what part of the world are you thinking of visiting?
how much time do you have?

TwoFatFeet Aug 14th, 2007 01:11 PM

And, of course, how much is "a lot of money"?

Go to East Beach, stay at the Days Inn and eat at Don's, they have a great kid's menu!

East Beach?

nanabee Aug 14th, 2007 01:35 PM

i think clarkgriswold is just keeping it generic - in keeping with the theme.

I think you're right -- it hadn't occurred to me!

Please4 help us:

Where are you coming from?

Are you flying or driving?

How old are the kids?

How long do you have?

Likes and dislikes (beach, camping, renting a condo, hot or cold weather)?

Some vague clue as to budget?

Some good friends of ours have two little boys; they just returned from San Diego and loved it. Not sure where you're coming from or what your budget is, but that area was a hit with them.

Hi jlb! At ages 4 and 2 your kids won't remember details of the trip, so I'd choose a place that is relaxing to you. There is nothing worse than forcing a lot of walking, shopping, and sightseeing on little ones.

Our family enjoyed beach vacations when the kids were little. Most restaurants in a beach community are casual and cater to families. Our favorite beach is Siesta Key, FL. My husband and I just had a terrific time at Fripp Island, SC this past June. There were a lot of families. Lauderdale-By-The-Sea is a nice beach area with a lot of restaurants and shops.

Just some ideas to toss around. The best advice I can give is don't overplan and go with the flow.

I also recommend a beach vacation. I would highly recommend renting a condo or house on the beach. It is much easier with little ones.
We went to Hilton Head and rented a condo on the beach from islandgetaway.com It was in the Windsor Court condo building. It had two bedrooms, kitchen, washer/dryer, etc.. It is a low-key nice place with calm waters and large beach. You would fly into Savannah or you could drive.
