Family reunion recommendations with 2-3 hr drive from pittsburgh.
Does anyone know of a place...
I wanted to rent a whole bunch of cabins, or a whole bunch of hotel rooms, or Camp group bunk sites like a retreat site, state park site, cottages, cabins within 3 hour, 2 hr better, drive from Pittsburgh.[Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, Maryland, Lake Erie, West Virginia, etc]
I need to do this very cheaply.
I wanted the place to have a room, area, building you can rent out, or a universal area we can use so I can have a party, bbq, food all night, no tent camping.
Example... having the gathering party 4pm to 11pm on a Saturday, type of thing with food, games, etc, more of picnic style, nothing fancy, nothing like weddings.
Family reunion for older people mostly, more older then younger people would be coming. So no need for places like water parks.
Would like places around to rent canoes, maybe boat, mini golf if anything, maybe horseback, bowling alley, but prefer more outdoor stuff.
Prefer on the water in the woods so we could swim in clean lake or river, looking for summer, 2 nights, Friday to Sunday.
Need all rooms, cabins or cottages beside each other within walking distance.
Need to sleep 50 people.
Maybe 15 to 20 rooms depends on how many to room cabin
Max 100.00 to 150.00 room per night, cheaper is better.
Prefer a couple rooms that allow dogs.
I would consider a couple very large houses, but do not think it would be enough, we need our space and would have to have the houses close to each other.
Any recommadations would be appreciated.
Starting early to look for venue for August 2021. I want to book by August 2019.

There's a great four season resort called Peek'n Peak in Western New York in Clymer NY that fits your request perfectly... trails, golf, zip lines, pools, activities and tons of lodging choices just a short drive from Erie, PA...
just google Peek'n Peak...

So I camp but I don't know your part of the country. Here are some ways I would search for what you want:
1. Go to Google Maps and enter Pittsburgh. Then do the drop-down at the left and for "nearby" enter "state park." Or "Campground." That is how I do my own searching. Then look at any promising results in other tabs.
2. Visit the state parks website for Pennsylvania, as well as possibly Ohio and other states within your radius. Here is the Pennsylvania site's section on Group Campgrounds:
https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/G...s/default.aspx
3. Look at private campground chains. KOA is one example. Thousand Trails is another.
4. If your group is large enough, maybe there is a church camp or other kids' camp that you could rent. This last idea will only work if you are flexible--aka you hold your event after all the kids' camps end for the summer.

Prince Gallitzin State Park ticks a lot of your boxes. It's a lovely location, and has ten "modern" cabins plus I think five more rustic ones, it's on Glendale Lake, there are boats, it's about 2 hours from PIttsburgh, you can rent boats, etc.
I'm not sure of the price as it's been a while since I've stayed there, but here are some of the details: https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/F...ages/Stay.aspx

Consider the state parks in West Virginia offering a range of accommodations, from rustic cabins to large hotel/lodges.

It's my hope that I'm not too late here, it does mention you intended to book in August, but if you've fallen behind, I'd like to humbly recommend Put-in-Bay. It's an island on Lake Erie, about an hour west of Cleveland, and very near the world-famous Cedar Point. Put-in-Bay welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, many coming for reunions that sound a lot like what you have in mind. For more island information you should check out putinbay.com, and as a bonus tip, islandclub.com may be exactly what you have in mind for lodging!
