Family lodging- San Diego and/or LA
 

We are a family of 5, kids aged 8,11,and 13. We are adding some time to a business trip to Dana Point and are looking for places to stay when we visit LA and San Diego. I am concerned about weather. Although we don't plan to spend lot of time at the hotel, we're not sure if we should prioritize an indoor pool (they seem scarce) or go for location. We are really at a loss. Anyone with a suggestion or 2? Thanks.

What time of year are you coming? The reason for the shortage of indoor pools is because they are hardly ever needed.
