family in Daytona?

My family and I will be in Daytona for a week around thanksgiving. Is there anything that we can do around there that doesn't involve Kamikazes or wet t-shirts? Thanks in advance for your answer.

I used to live in Daytona many moons ago. Around Thanksgiving, you'd have to go out of your way to find the Wet T's and Kamikazes. That's a very sloooow time of year in Daytona. A nice time to walk on the beach. (Probably not warm enough for swimming, but you never know...) Not really a place full of culture (one reason I left) but it may have changed over the years. Surely there is a Chamber of Commerce website?

Before I can give an accurate answer, I'd have to know how old the kids are, but I'll estimate somewhere between 4-12. Plenty to do as a family though.
First, I would recommend staying at the Sun Viking Lodge. They are a family oriented hotel, nobody under 25 is allowed to stay there unless with their family, so there are no groups of teenagers or college kids. The boardwalk is a great place for families now, it has been cleaned up considerably since the 80's when it was pretty scary. Take a trip down to Ponce Inlet lighthouse, it's 5 bucks or so for admission, walk to the top for great views. Two fishing piers if anyone is interested in that, Kennedy Space Center is an hour away, there's shopping malls, putt-putt golf, regular golf courses, a dog track, really pretty much anything else you have in a major city you'll find there. Not sure what your specific interests are, so I can't really offer more than that right now. However, there's certainly plenty to do to keep a family occupied.
