family holiday in maui - april/may
taking family to maui next spring. never been. need 3 bedroom condo for 5 adults, one grandson? prefer non-highrise resort...2/3 stories OK.
would like a nice beach for swimming/waves, snorkeling nearby. some night life for adult children to enjoy within driving distance. any suggestions for condos, what region of maui and April or May? |
We loved the Hale Kai - see www.halekai.com. Unit 220 has one bedroom w/ a king bed, one bedroom w/ 2 twin beds, and a loft w/ a double or queen. 2 bathrooms. It is a small complex - two floors, only about 40 or so units. There are coin washers & driers. Parking was free, I think. Great view.
The pool was super clean and there is a gas grill available. There is a park right beside the condo with a small beach. We snorkeled twice at Honolua Bay - it was fantastic. Others will be able to recommend other great snorkel sites. You can find some nightlife in nearby Lahaina. |
The areas I would recommend are:
Kaanapali, Napili, Lahaina, and my favorite--Kapalua. |
3 bedrooms are hard to come by. Usually 2 bedrooms with a pull out.
Check out my site, I could make you a deal on the one I own :) Check out my video link on line: http://www.greatvacationrental.com/km632.htm |
We rented a three bedroom condo at Papakea Resort, north of Kaanapali. I got it through vrbo.com
It had two bedrooms on the main floor and also a loft with two beds in it. The beach there is not the best but Kaanapali is minutes away. |
Yes, save your money. 5 people can sleep in a 2 bedroom, if it also has a large sleeper sofa in the living room. Here is an amazing condo right on the beach. They said it was only steps to the beach and they are right. We've stayed all over maui and this is the best condo. They have a web site and a virtual tour. See for yourself. www.mauibeachfrontparadise.com Good luck.
