Family-friendly restaurants in Keystone?

We will be in Keystone at the end of Feb. for the first time, and wondered if anyone had any suggestions for restaurants that would be conducive to taking our three small children?

You don't say how small, but many of the restaurants in Keystone are quite casual and are accustomed to kids. The Italian restaurant in River Run might be a good choice for you. If you're looking for an adventure, consider taking them on the sleigh ride dinner out on the Ranch golf course (reservations can be made at the Activities phone line.) It's a fun evening and very casual dining at an old ranch house with music and singing. Your kids will love it. Also, the fondue restaurant on the mountain is another adventure in dining. You'll take two gondolas up the mountain and eat in a festive log room with an Oompah band and a huge fireplace. It's noisey and delicious. You'll be given a blanket to warm you on the trips up and down.

Check out the website www.keystone.snow.com for a list of all the dining options in Keystone. You'll have a great time.

Catbert,
Thanks for the info. Our kids are 6 yr old twins and a 4 yr old, and they LOVE pasta, so the Italian restaurant sounds good to me. Do you happen to remember the name? Is it pricey or foo-foo? Would prefer nothing too fancy w/3 kids.

Amy, the Italian restaurant is Paisano's. It's casual family friendly and resonably priced. Most places in Keystone are casual. There are a few expensive exceptions; The Ranch (A top rated Zagat Colorado restaurant), Ski Tip, the Alpenglow Stube, and a couple of places in the Lodge. Even these are resort casual. If you find a babysitter you might want to try one of these.

There are also pizza places right next to the ice rink.

We took our 7 yr. old son up the Gondola to the Fondue restaurant. A beautiful ride in itself! They had a polka band & he LOVED the "different" experience. They accomodated the kids wonderfully & it was a very special & memorable eveing for the adults too!!

Hi, localgal! Do you know if you have to have reservations for the fondue restaurant? And if so, whom do you make them with? Is the restaurant itself pricey?

Yes, you definitely need reservations at the fondue restaurant. You can make them by calling the activities desk when you arrive. In house phone number: 4FUN. It's not hard to get them. They just don't take walk-ins.

Re the fondue place, we went there last year with our two kids, and they loved it. The gondola ride was pretty fun; it was dusk when we went up, and dark on the way down.

See the website here: http://keystone.snow.com/keystonedin...ial.fondue.asp.

It says the price is $50 for adults and $25 for kids. It's a memorable experience, but you'll have to decide if the experience is worth the price for what is, after all, just fondue. I remember getting a somewhat unpleasant surprise when we got the bill - I think it was that the kid's menus didn't include salads, which they didn't tell us when they asked the kids what kind of salads they wanted. So we were charged extra for the salads; not a big deal, except that you know kids and salads, and we wouldn't have ordered them if we didn't think they were included.
