Family friendly place to meet between Maine and Virginia?

I am looking for a place to meet family - we will drive from the DC area and they will drive from Maine. Would like about half way, but is okay if one of us has to drive a little further. Idealy would have a nice pool. 4 kids between us from 11 to 3.

My kids always loved this place when we lived in PA. Free parking free admission just pay for rides and food, drinks etc.

My kids got good at grabbing brass rings on the merry go round.

Google motels in the Princeton, NJ area. There are a million hotels around there (Rte 1) and the general area is pretty.

Or New Hope, Pennsylvania or Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area or Jersey shore, maybe Long Beach Island

Somewhere in the Finger Lakes?

(Considering driving from either place, and how to miss the heaviest East Coast corridor traffic...)

Difficult to say what a halfway point would be since Maine is pretty big, if they're in northern Maine it's 7 hours just to get out of the state.

But I'll take a stab at Norwalk Connecticut, the Hilton Garden Inn is newly renovated with free breakfast and parking. 10-minute drive to the the SoNo waterfront district, home of the Maritime Aquarium, Stepping Stones Museum, Norwalk Cove Marina. The pool is indoors, however. There's a nice Hilton Garden in Shelton as well, also with an indoor pool. Springhill Suites in Milford isn't far from the shore either. All of these are easy from I-95.

I should have clarified that they're coming from Portland, ME. Looks like Northern NJ or Southern Connecticut would be about half way. Would like to find a hotel with an outdoor pool, but not finding much.

From my experience, most Marriotts in NJ and CT (the full service ones, not necessarily the Courtyards etc) have outdoor as well as indoor pools. You can search their website for specific locations. The locations are usually not exciting, mostly office parks, but that makes weekend rates pretty low.
The Rocky Hill CT Marriot outside Hartford is near the Dinosaur State Park that might be fun for kids but I've never been to the park. There are also airplane and train and trolley museums withing driving distance
