Family friendly dining Dupont Circle

I saw a list of recommended places to eat, but I need to know which ones won't cringe when I walk in with three children including one that needs a highchair. They are very well behaved when eating out and can wait a while so that is not a problem.

There is a California Pizza Kitchen in the area -- thin crust pizza. Very kid friendly. I heard it was a favorite of Pres. Clinton's when he was in office.

I would also think about Bucca de pepo..it is chain but is hugh and very laid back...everything is served family style and people can be messy..no dressing up and great wine for you and fun waiters for you kids... I see kids and large groups with kids in there all the time

Go to Pizzeria Paradiso. It is on Washingtonian's 100 Best Bargain Restaurants, and it is excellent.

It is just north of Dupont Circle. The address is 2029 P St. NW.

Enjoy DC!

Go to this website and in the Pull-down tab choose a neighborhood and/or cuisine and make sure you click the "kid-freindly" box:

In addition to what the Wash Post website says, I think these two are also kid-friendly. "Fancy". Call ahead about highchairs - this goes for any restaurant):

I laughed when I saw this because we ate out in DC with 18 month old twins! A few blocks from Dupont Circle is The Daily Grille at Connecticut and M NW. It's always noisy and so a little more isn't noticed. We weren't intimidated however and ate wherever we wanted. We just left a big tip!

Having lived in DC for decades, I can tell you that, in general, DC is not a very formal city. With the exception of a few very expensive, very formal restaurants--which you can spot a mile off--your kids will be welcome everywhere, particularly if they are well behaved for their ages, don't make an outrageous mess, and you tip generously. That said, you have some very good suggestions above (although I have heard bad things about Buca di Beppo--haven't been myself); I would add Raku, a hip-ish Asian fusion place that is loud on Fri and Sat nights but laid-back the rest of the time. Have fun!
