Family Activity in New Hampshire
My family- 6 kids ages 21-10 are looking to do an activity tomorrow before the older ones go away to college?
Any ideas? We are in NH, but fairly local to Maine, Northern NH, and very close to Mass. We just got back from a beach vacation, so we are trying to steer clear from the beach! |
Go to Crawford Notch and walk the Mt Willard trail to the end. Look at the view. Be grateful that you have this time together.
It is not a hard trail, basically an old logging road. Take a picnic. |
Lost River is a fun day trip for families - lots of crevasses, caves and boulders to crawl around in. Nice picnic grounds.
Another idea is Canterbury Shaker Village, just north of Concord. |
Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville VT.
Oops, sorry, you needed the idea yesterday. |
So many ideas!
1. Go to Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH. It's a colonial/historic village and the museum people dress up in traditional garb. Afterwards you can go out to eat in Portsmouth or visit Prescott Park on the water! I wrote about it here: http://thefreelanceadventurer.blogsp...p-to-past.html 2. Head to the white mountains and go on a hike. For families who enjoy hiking go to Mt. Willard in Crawford Notch or Lonseome Lake Hut in Franconia. If you aren't into hiking to much, walk out to Diana's Bath in North Conway and swim in the river! http://thefreelanceadventurer.blogsp...mountains.html 3. Take the Downeaster (or Drive) to Boston. The train is fun and the kids will love it. Then navigate by subway to The Aquarium and/or the Boston Museum of Science. Both are excellent! Info here: http://thefreelanceadventurer.blogsp...boston-ma.html Good luck and have a great day! |
