I would like to visit Falling Waters and Kentucky Knob(Frank Lloyd Wright) in Farmington, Pa.

Can somebody recommend an hotel, inn or b&b around that area

Nemacolin Resort and Spa is 15 minutes from Falling Waters. It's a very nice and expensive resort hotel with a great spa. I am not familiar with b&b's in the area but Nemacolin is a great choice if you are willing to pay, and they do have specials from time to time.

My first choice would be Nemacolin, too. Check out this page for other options in the area.

When we visited Falling Waters we stayed in Somerset PA at the Hampton Inn. They're extremely clean, comfortable beds and not tooo expensive. While there we had dinner at a really good place "Jimmy's Bistro" and the food was excellent.

Just another vote for Nemacolin--I was just there a couple of weeks ago. It's very beautiful, a FABULOUS spa (try the hot stone massage), and good golf. However, if you stay there, I'd plan some meals off property. In my experience, the food was not as good as it's prices would merit. Especially the room service. It's only about 15 minutes from Falling Waters, so it would be very convenient.

For the record, the places are named Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob.

I called my sister who lives in Chalk Hill. She recommended "The Lodge at Chalk Hill" (see http://www.dc1.net/~thelodge) as a much less expensive alternative to Nemacolin Woodlands. Sister mentioned the Stone House Restaurant between Chalk Hill and Nemacolin. Stone House is also a B&B.

The B&Bs in Chalk Hill & Ohiopyle at Shari's link would be convenient.

Seven Springs would also be in the neighborhood.

Great choice for a visit. For those who do not know, Falling Waters was chosen by the American Institute of Architects as the best example of American architecture.

Does anyone have exact location of falling waters coming from Cumberland, MD? Can u call ahead with reservations?

I never experienced Nemacolin Resort/Spa, but it sure sounds nice.

I have eaten at the Stone House Restaurant and had a terrific dinner there, consisting of rather 'homestyle' cooking. Terrific pie for dessert.
