Recommendations for Lower Peninsula MI Beach Town with no train horns/noise

Looking for LP Michigan, beach towns, with no train noise for Summer '07 stay. Loved St. Joe and Tiscornia Beach last two summers, but train horns in the middle of the night proved too much for a good night's sleep. In reviewing the MI maps, is Upper Peninsula the necessary change? Would appreciate recommendations.

Check out the Saugatuck/Douglas/South Haven areas. Not much further, nice beaches, and no train horns that I've ever noticed.

I'd look into Grand Haven, Holland, Traverse City, Pentwater, or Saugatuck. I don't remember hearing trains in any of those places.

What do you want to do while there? Any kids? Large or small town?

Thanks for the feedback. While there with kids (3 and 5 year olds) and extended family, we enjoy the beach, visiting orchards (wineries, too, if kids allowed), dining out (anywhere from diner to nicer restaurants are okay), walking the town/sight seeing--overall just relaxing.

Head for the northern end of the peninsula. The trains are long gone. Even the tracks.

The Traverse area has all kinds of wineries, orchards, a cherry festival in July, tall ships you can ride on, beaches, sand dunes, lighthouses, shopping, and lots of good restaurants. I'd vote for this area...
