Fall colors in California
Hi,
Just wonder if there are any places in CA to see fall colors. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks Karen |
The Bishop/June Lake area is good for fall colors. Our colors are golden compared to the East which are red. Late September to early October usually is the prime time.

if you are in nor. cal, the wine country area has amazing fall foliage.

On TV maybe?
I like the color change of the many vineyards on the central coast or in Napa. You take what you can get. |
Yosemite has some good fall foliage.

The vineyards are beautiful with color in mid-Fall, late October and early November.
In the Sierra, the season varies with elevation. Monitor Pass is truly spectacular when the aspen are turning and the area just south of Bridgeport has a number of colorful groves. This is where True Grit was filmed. For more info and details see: http://www.gdanmitchell.com/2009/09/...than-you-think |
