fall colors in Blue Ridge Parkway
 

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Asheville, N.C. and am wondering when peak colors are at elevations 4,000 and 5,000 feet, which to my understanding
in most of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I know it can be unpredictable due to many climate factors. I will be flying in from Colorado so would like to
get close to a fall color window of time.

Next year could be off a week or so, but it's usually nice for a couple of weeks anyway.

Mid-October is usually the good time.

I guess "mid" means the 3rd week or Oct. 14-19. I know our aspens do a dramatic change after the first frost. Was wanting to visit
Oct. 22-25 in the Asheville area. Do you think that is too late? Thank you.

Your timing should be pretty good. As someone said, it lasts for a while and it also depends on the amount of rain we get through the season. It is a bit different from the aspens--more different kinds of trees and colors. LOVE the aspens.
