Fairfield San Antonio at La Cascada

We have an opportunity to stay at this resort
in San Antonio. I can't find much info-has
anyone stayed here? Any help would be appreciated.

I live in San Antonio and have never heard of this hotel. Do you have an address?

The address I have is 226 Dwyer St.

Have not stayed there but have driven past it, can tell you it is in the downtown area, a little south of the center of things. Not a bad location. La Cascada is the luxury condos in the adjacent tower. It is a new property (so should be in good shape) which is probably why you can't find much information.

Sorry, I was thinking of Fairfield Inns (the Marriott brand). I don't know anything about this resort, but if you plan on sightseeing, you'll definitely need a car.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Seamus...this question popped up on TA too. Look at this description for La Cascada...I think the one next to it is the same thing, but they haven't sold yet?? One went up then the other did right next door. Is there yet another bldg??

From http://www.thorngravesaia.com/commercial/lacascada/ :

This project consists of two phases and is located on the San Antonio River Walk. Phase one is a forty-two unit, twelve-floor, high rise condominium with Individual units costing from the mid three hundred thousands to over half a million dollars. Phase II will be located adjacent to Phase I and is to be built in synergy with Phase I, containing Condominiums as well as various service shops. The two phases will connect by underground passageway. The design of the two buildings will fit in well with the older downtown built landscape while providing modern, up-scale town home living.

The prices they quote are way out of line. Some in phase 1 went for over a million and some remaining units go up to 900. I think it's where our new fab City Manager lives too.

Is this a good area to get out and walk around?

Seamus Jul 6th, 2007 09:22 AM

Hi OO -
unless I am confused -always a possibility - we drove past this place a week or so ago, and it had only recently opened. BTW DH gave good quote in the paper today

nlg - it is an OK area to get out and walk, a few to several blocks from the things you are likely to want to visit. Remember, though, if you are planning to visit in the summer it is hot and humid - and right now we are having lots of rain on top of that.

Hi Seamus...my/i> DH was quoted in the paper today? I'm always last to know. And he doesn't tell. :)

Seamus, do you still have my email addy? I had a computer crash earlier this year that wiped my address book out, but I wanted to comment on the newspaper quote in not quite such a public way! :) It's a loooong story.
