I wish I could tell you something about room size, which is the only distinguishing feature that would differentiate these two very similar hotels. They are similarly located (I believe next door to each other, or at least on the same block) and offer similar levels of service and amenities. I'd choose by price and room size. If you have two kids, you really do need a room with two beds, and it needs to be large enough. Most of the newish NYC hotels have very small rooms, so while two beds may technically "fit", you may not have much room to move around. A hotel with larger rooms like a Homewood Suites might be better for you, but it might also be more expensive. However, I believe all those rooms have microwaves and small fridges, so you could make simple meals like breakfast or lunch.
