Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden

There's a mention of this in a recent South Beach trip report, but I thought it deserved its own thread: thru May 31 there is an incredible installation of Dale Chihuly glass. It's like being in a fairyland. On Thursday evenings it's lighted (separate admission, but I'm sure it would be worth it---we weren't in the area on a Thurs to find out). If you are in South Florida between now and the end of May, you should not miss this.

thanks for the reminder - I've been meaning to see it.

And while you're there don't forget to visit the gardens. Get off the tram at the bamboo gardens and walk stealthly around in search of the elusive 5 foot long iguanas that hide out in the stands. They are so coooool.

Those iguanas aren't that elusive, in fact they were everywhere last May. They were enormous...and I was surprised how fast they ran.

I loved the gardens and spent most of a day there.

Thanks for the reminder about the Chihuly glass exhibit. I'll definitely go there. LMF

We were there last weekend and it is quite special. They have brunch on Sundays. The park is definitely one of South Florida's jewels, with or without the exhibit.
