FainaAgain - Vegas

My husband and I are going to Vegas this upcoming weekend (first time). So a couple of days ago, I bought the Fodors Vegas 2006 book and got a kick out of seeing a quote from you in it. I thought "oh I know her!" although I don't really know you. :-)
Just wanted to share.

what?????????????

Oh, don't make me buy the book, what was the quote about? My curiosity is at the very top of the scale :)

And thank you for taking your time to post this.

If you prefer - my e-mail [email protected]

LOL.
They didn't even tell you??
I'm at work now but when I get home, I'll look at the book and post the exact quote...should be around 3:30pmET.
I also bought the 20006 Caribbean book and it looks like it's Fodors new thing. Throughout the book, they'll post comments from Fodorites about the places. Actually, a pretty neat idea.

Hang on to that book and someday maybe you can get an autograph :D

Statia Dec 7th, 2005 08:55 AM

Yeah, Faina is a superstar! :)

Caribtraveler, is St. Eustatius listed in the book at all? Just curious since the island is so small that it's often overlooked.

Scarlett: I know!!

FainaAgain: You should go buy the book.
The book is divided into chapters:
1. Where to Stay and Play.
2. Gamble.
3. Explore
Etc...
On the front page of each chapter, there's a quote named "Word of Mouth" taken from Fodors' forum. On the first page of chapter 3 Explore Las Vegas it says "Imperial Palace was unexpected fun. Go to their Auto Museum - It's a huge parking lot with collectible cars, most of them for sale....The cheapest one we saw was $17,000, the most expensive $1,900,000. A car previously owned by Marilyn Monroe was for sale, and the price tag said 'make an offer.'"

Statia: Guess what? You're a star too. You're on page 633 of the 2006 Caribbean book for St. Eustatius.
Your quote:
"Crime is almost non-existent...Everyone you pass will wave at you, whether they know you or not, and one always enters a shop or place of business with a pleasant....greeting."
-Statia

Well heck, I'm just going to have to go buy both books now. :)

Wow, you famous Fodies!!! Very exciting!!

There are also quite a few in the 2006 Fodors Costa Rica book (check the Latin America Forum if interested for reactions) and it's so cool to see those familiar names!
I had no idea quotes are in, it seems, all the new editions. Can't wait to hit the bookstore!!! Big congrats for having printworthy quotes, to Faina and Statia! Scarlett, maybe you'll be in Fodors Oregon 2007??

Wow, thank you , CaribTraveler, you've saved me $16.95 + delivery charge :))

I wondered what is it I said could get their attention. And of course this is the first time I hear about it.

Well, now, everybody, cool down, and if you want to meet a celebrity... LOL I live in San Francisco, the city visited by many, almost always available for a cup-of-tea-get-together :))

gyppielou Dec 7th, 2005 12:20 PM

Makes me wonder if they quoted Patrick or the other banished ones?

iceeu2 Dec 7th, 2005 02:49 PM

Makes me wonder if they quoted you, g'lou, or any of those other naughty K9s!

gyppielou Dec 7th, 2005 07:45 PM

Well, anyway, yippee to Faina and Statia. I have always found both of you more than just quotable!!! Good times!
