factory outlet
In 2007 on our first trip to New York we spent a whole day in a factory outlet nearby. I wonder if anyone can tell me the name please. It was huge and have at least 200 shops and a big circular food court. When we walked out of this outlet we ended up in a hotel near it and this hotel was huge too. It was beautiful and had a BIG and beautiful indoor garden. (Unfortunately I cannot seem to be able to include a photo of it here)

How close to NY? Secaucus, NJ or Woodbury Common in Harriman? I don't know of a big hotel as you describe. Were the shops discount shops or full retail? Americana on Long Island?
Maybe Jersey Gardens?
http://www.jerseygardens.com/info/information.cfm There is at least one hotel right there. |
it's certainly not Americana-not a factory outlet in sight there !!!
Tanger on Long Island?
It's not Woodbury Common, as there was no adjacent large hotel nearby. There still isn't, but there is a Hampton Inn right next door now. Still, I can't think of any other outlet with more than 200 stores anywhere within 50 miles of NYC.

Not an outlet, but maybe Palisades Center in Nyack NY? Was it enclosed?
The Tanger Outlet in Deer Park LI has a Hampton Inn just up the road. The one in Riverhead, which is more than 50 miles from NYC also has hotels w/in easy range. Google them
I think it might have been the Riverhead outlet, there's a huge Hilton out that way off the LIE with a garden in the lobby....
Oops, I think it's the Hyatt in Hauppauge, always get those "H" hotels confused.
If near NYC it would have been Jersey Gardens as that is enclosed under one roof. There is a Courtyard by Marriott next to it. I would think you'd remember the airport as you are less than a 1/2 mile from the runway for Newark Airport.
Woodbury Commons and The Tanger Outlet Center in Riverhead are other possibilities but they are distinct in that they are individual shops in more of a strip mall layout. |
