EXTRA TIME IN NYC
 

I will be traveling on business to NYC the first week of May for 5 days staying at the Sheraton NY Hotel & Towers (7th Ave & 53rd). With only limited free time because my meetings will be at the Sheraton where can I go within a close range to the hotel say for a quick lunch or shopping? I have been to NYC, but it has been several years.

What type of shopping? If you walk over to fifth you're only a few blocks north of Saks and a feew blocks south of Tiffany, Trump mall and a bunch of other stores.

(If you have just an hour it won;t really be time to do anything but grab a sandwich or salad.)

For a quick"ish" lunch:
>Le Pain Quotidienne 7th ave & 58 st.
>Carnegie Deli 7th & 55th (not my thing but famous for the pastrami)
>Maison 53 st & 7th (although address is Broadway) open 24/7 French bistro

Quickest will be a deli or coffee shop.

Closest shopping is probably around Rockefeller Center on fifth ave. Saks is at 50th. There's an H & M at 51st & 5th.

OR walk up to Columbus Circle (59th) to the Time Warner building. There's a Whole Foods where you can eat (or take out) and lots of shops.

What is H&M on 51st?

H & M is a store that sells inexpensive but trendy clothes. They have several locations. The one on 51 st & Fifth ave. is closest to the Sheraton.

Canal Street is a fun place to shop. Lots of sunglasses and purses.

Saks and H&M are worlds apart when it comes to clothes shopping. Perhaps the OP should let us know what type(s) and price range she's looking at!
