Expedia Special Rate - Anyone ever used this???

Hi, I can get a much better rate using this Expedia option. I have read the cancellation penalties and I am aware of them. Has anyone used this option? Did you have any problems with Check In? Thanks..... this makes me a little bit nervous.... My vacation money is hard to come by and I try to have everything all in order........

I've used it twice now and had no problem.

Before booking with Expedia, be sure to shop the rates through other resources. Sometimes, the Expedia rates are outstanding, other times they are positively ridiculous (substantially higher even than booking with the hotel's website with no prepayment and generous cancellation policies).

Thank you for your replies. Yes I have check everywhere using the net and also by phone. These are the best rates I can find..... Anyone else?

I've also booked an expedia speical rate and could not not find a similar rate anywhere. I had no problems at all.

In addition to the two bookings that I mentioned above, I also booked another special rate, but immediately afterwards found that the hotel's website had a better deal. I didn't realize until too late that Expedia has a full refund policy if you find a better rate within 24 hours. As it was, I just took the $20 penalty and booked directly with the hotel.

Used the Expedia special rate once with no problems whatsoever.

I use this rate when I know I will go, I believe this is non-refundable. Otherwise no problem. Just make sure the hotel doesn't offer any special packages and the rate is really the lowest.

What I always do - I call the hotel directly, tell them I made a reservation with Expedia, and ask them if it shows on their computers. This is just me, I always worry :)

Thanks guys..... I appreciate the advice. I'm going to do the rounds again of web pages and phone calls and make sure I don't find anything better before I book this. Again, thanks I feel better should I decided to go this route.

This may be late but I have used it twice once in Cannes and just February in Orlando. Everything was great and no problems at all.
