Excalibur Dinner Show

Will be in Vegas with 14 yo son in a few weeks and want to experience a fun show for him that isn't too expensive. Someone suggested the Excalibur Dinner Show. Does anyone have any input on this show?

You will leave hungry. They feed you some watery soup in a tin bowl and a piece of chicken with a biscuit. The main attraction is the horse jousting in the ring in front of you. $35 per person is not worth it IMO. I'd save my money. Take him to downtown Vegas for the free light show on that covered street whose name escapes me at the moment. (someone here will have the details). You could take him to see Lance Burton the magician at the Monte Carlo. Tickets were about the same price, I believe, as the Excalibur show. The only other thing I can add is that the $100 per ticket for 'O'or Mystere really gives you your money's worth. If it is doable, go for it. You can save money elsewhere by eating in the food courts.

If he's still there, Max King did a great family show at Harrah's during the day. It wasn't expensive and was very entertaining.

IMHO, the HighRoller at the Stratosphere. Not much of a thrill ride as rides go.But the elevatorride up to the top and the view is worth the price of admission."O" is great.Last time I saw it there was a group of 50 high school swimmers/divers there as a sort of "field trip" experience. They thought it was awesome.

The light show is on Fremont Street and called the Fremont Street Experience. Fun, fun, fun, even if it's only 8 minutes long. We had Motown music but the theme changes every hour. We even took pictures and they came out surprisingly decent.

Here's a website of the scheduled themes:
http://www.vegasexperience.com/light...arch03_new.htm

Our family loved the Excalibur Dinner Show! Sons, 17 & 18, had a blast. Meal is average (although we didn't leave hungry), but we didn't care. The show itself was well worth the cost of the tickets. Lots of action, audience participation (cheering, booing, etc.), very fun. Plus, being a rancher, I was impressed with how well trained the horses are. Lance Burton at Monte Carlo also excellent for teens and adults.

My family also enjoyed the show. Food was plenty for me, but be warned, it's messy! You eat (or used to anyway) with your hands. It's been about 6 years ago, so it may have changed, I don't know.
