Ever Stung by a Wasp? See what to do!
During my last hiking trip I came under the attack of a squadron of wasps!! I got stung. I had no idea why they chose me; there were six of us! I just bumped into this blog, which has some great info...

Like your signon name, earthhopper! ((Y))
Thanks for the heads up! Last year I was stung on the leg and had a nasty raw-meat-looking "wound" that was painful and hard to take care of. Was travelling too, so limped around for days. So, I, for one, really appreciate this info! :) |
I appreciate too, tho i knew most of it but right now, I have ithy bites, I think are misquito or spider bites. Do you know what can help. My husband has not a one but he doesn't go onto my tiny garden/patio

Thanks easy traveler. I stole that name from grasshopper;)Ah, even I had to limp around for about 3 days, with swelling wounds here and there:)
Sorry Cigalechanta, right now I dnt have any info on mosquito bites. When you go to the garden, I think the best way is to avoid the mosquitos. So, wear full sleeves, try to cover your body as much as possible. Will definitely share if I come across any info. |
When our kids were smaller and their mosquito bites would swell and itch, we got a stick called "Afterbite" that you would apply to each bite. It would sting when applied but would cut the itching immediately. Our kids decided they preferred the itch to the sting, but the sting would only last a few seconds.

for stinger removal (or splinters) try using tape.
to remove ticks. flip them upside down and extract with tweezer. it is not the head that is the problem it is the body. DO NOT SQUISH EM. for mosquito bites - use your finger nail and make a deep X directly over the center of the bump. |

Boy, does that sound like an invitation for a nice infection! |
i use diluted ammonia instead of "afterbite".
same thing, i think. |
That's funny about the kids, rm_mm:)) Thanks everyone for the great suggestions.
