ever stayed at the edison?

we're staying at the edison hotel (or hotel edison, i'm not sure which way they call it) in new york city next month. have you stayed there? is it safe, clean, pleasant? any warnings?

I've seen nothing but positive reviews for the Edison on this forum. Try doing a search for it here and reading what others have written. They have certainly found it clean, safe, and pleasant.

I have stayed there and will stay there again in August. It is in a perfect location, neat and clean, with a very nice staff. It is older but has been renovated although when I was there last, renovations were still going on. I recommend it.

We always stay at the Edison, and besides all the other good stuff about the hotel like location, price, and really nice staff, if you are connected to the clothing trade they offer a corporate rate. The coffee shop is nicknamed the "polish tea room", lots of jewish syle food at good prices, and I've heard Neil Simon is writing a play based on the place. You get on the elevator and its like the U.N. 10 people from all over the world. Its great!
