Ever packed food?

So I have brought food with in the past on trips to Hawaii, but can't seem to find any specifics on what, exactly, I can and cannot bring. Can anyone help with a link or suggestions?
Thanks!

You can't bring in fresh fruit.

Do you remember the agricultural form they make you fill out en route? You are required to declare any fresh fruits or vegetables. Live seafood too - watch out for those lobsters!

Sure! My family owns timeshares so we often bring out own food. In Hawaii, the groceries that are bulky or heavy are what is expensive to ship to the island. We brought breakfast cereal, snack bars, and spices/seasonings to avoid having to buy them there.

Basically, don't bring in fresh fruit or meat. With the restrictions against dry ice, I'd just stick to non-perishable stuff.

you can always bring frozen cut-up fruits (checkin). i especially like the apple-sized strawberries from fruit stands near santa barbara. they have to be frozen 30days prior to departure (on ha) and declared on those silly forms. some of the fruits imo are better in ca and cheaper.
