Events in early August?
 

My father and I are taking a week long trip at the beginning of August. He wants to see if there are any exciting festivals or shuttle launches that week. Our cities to visit can be anywhere in the US. He just sprung this on me, so I'm a little at nerve's end! Suggestions? Thank you all! <BR>-Patty

You want something really different go to a number of county or state fairs. Ohio has a great state fair the first 2 weeks of August.

There is a wooden boat regatta near Acadia National Park in Maine around that time. Try acadia.net for info.
