Genocoop, the exchange rate for cash withdrawn from ATMs is about 1% more than the "official" interbank rate (between banks exchanging millions). TCs and currency-to-currency exchange will cost 6% or more.
Per-transaction fees imposed by U.S. banks (there's none form the eurpoean bank) range from zero to $5. Four transactions to withdraw $1400 could cost $20 in fees plus $14 on the exchange. Six percent (an optimistic figure for TC or currency) of $1400 is $84. |
I think my bank (Bank of America) is about the worst. They charge $5 per international transaction plus 1% currency exchange fee.

As lis often the case, the US bank customer service agents don't know what they are talking about. Ther will be NO additional fees since French banks don't charge for using their ATMs. |
Agreeing with Janis above, the only fees come from your own home bank. Hopefully they can tell you what THOSE are -lol!

Hi everyone. I've decided that I will use the ATM'S. Thanks for the most valuable information.
